New Delhi. Bajaj Group Chairman Kushagra Bajaj’s daughter Anandamayi (22) attended the $ 2.5 billion family business earlier this month as General Manager (Strategy). Their arrival in the group is part of the growing trend of women who are coming from major commercial families and playing management roles.

Anandamayi, whose mother Vasavadatta is the sister of Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Bajaj Aditya Birla Group, has received a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics and Mathematics from Columbia University in June. In her new role, she will work closely with the leadership teams of various businesses of the group and later join the boards of companies.
Anandamayi is obsessed with animal care and women empowerment. He has two brothers – Yugadikrit (20) and Vishwaroopa (17). Yugadikrit is a degree and will join the group in two years. Vishwaroopa, who is a student of HR College, is a Polo Champion. On Anandamayi’s appointment, Kushagra told the employees that she brings “a unique mixture of young curiosity and stable responsibility”.

Bajaj Group is interested in Chinese, ethanol, power and personal care businesses and employs more than 12,000 people. It separated from the original Bajaj Group in 2008. The original Bajaj Group, which was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj in the 1930s, is operated by Kushagra’s cousins, including Rajiv Bajaj (Bajaj Auto MD) and Sanjeev Bajaj (Bajaj Finserv CMD).
Rajiv’s son, Rishabh, works as a divisional manager (product strategy) in Bajaj Auto, while Sanjeev’s daughter, Sanjali, is doing MBA from Harvard after working in Bajaj Finserv.
