New Delhi. Branded egg -selling company Eggoz has raised Rs 167 crore in the Series C funding round. This investment has been led by Gaja Capital and old investors like Ivycap Ventures, Rebright Partners, Avaana Capital, Nabventures also participated in it. In 2017, 3 friends of IIT Kharagpur Abhishek Negi, Aditya Singh and Uttam Kumar started this company. Now the company will spread its business and cities with this money, will improve the supply chain and technology. This year, the company earned ₹ 130 crores and in the March quarter, its expenses and earnings became equal, that is, there was no loss.
Goal to deliver healthy eggs
Eggoz has emerged as a new and reliable name in India’s egg market. Its founders aims to not just sell eggs, but to create a strong chain of branded, safe and nutrition -rich eggs in India. Their model is to connect the farmers directly and bring fresh eggs of chickens raised on herbal feed to customers within a day. Today, Eggoz sells about 4 lakh eggs daily in many big cities of the country and is selling more than ₹ 100 crore annually.

Expensive but fresh
Abhishek explains that Eggoz’s eggs are slightly expensive compared to common eggs, but they are completely safe, fresh and high protein. These eggs pass through 11 safety checks, in which chemical free feed and purity are ensured. The company has launched two range. Premium and affordable. Premium eggs contain orange yoke and more protein, while the affordable range is available in ₹ 8- ₹ 9 per egg. With this, people from small cities can also opt for healthy protein. The company is now promoting egg -made foods through snack products like egg momos, nuggets and burgers patties.
The journey was not easy
In an interview given to News18, the company’s co-founder Abhishek Negi had told that the journey of Eggoz was not easy. Abhishek’s first startup failed, but instead of giving up, he saw the opportunity in poultry farming. The first three years spent research and experimenting on poultry in Bihar. Despite not listening to investors repeatedly, he did not give up and gradually raised the company. Today Eggoz is increasing the income of farmers, and urban is providing safe, traced eggs to users. His vision is clear to become the ‘Amul’ of eggs in India.
