Samastipur: Neetu Devi, a resident of Ujiarpur block of Samastipur district of Bihar, has become an inspiration for hundreds of women today. There was a time when he was completely dependent on farming, but when he was associated with livelihood, the direction of his life changed. He received a loan from the livelihood group, from which he bought a sewing machine. Initially it was a small effort, but today it has turned into a big business.

Neetu Devi now has 12 sewing machines and dozens of women work with her every day. These women also come to learn sewing work and earn wages. Neetu Devi not only achieved self -reliance herself, but has also made many more women of the village self -sufficient.

Order being received from administration

Neetu Devi has now started getting many types of orders from the district administration. Be it the dress of the children of Anganwadi or the tricolor flag stitching on the national festivals. Every responsibility is being entrusted to Neetu Devi’s team. In a conversation with Local 18, he told that he has received an order to sew flags for August 15. There is a plan to prepare more than 5000 flags this year. Last year, he handed over 2500 flags to the district administration in just two days.

This year they will get payment at Rs 36 per flag. In the case of Anganwadi children’s dress, she prepares the entire uniform for just 170 rupees, which is quite cheap and durable than to get from outside. District administration officials have also appreciated his work.

Jeevika became Sahara

The group of Neetu Devi runs under the name of “Bella Jeevika”. He said that till now he has got financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh through livelihood, due to which he built his business and bought sewing machines. He told that at present 12 Jeevika Didi comes to work regularly here and they are all earning well.

He says that ‘those who work hard are never defeated’, and that is why they are self -sufficient today and are also supporting others. Neetu Devi has now become a symbol of women empowerment. Neetu says that if the intentions are strong, then the fate can be changed with a machine.
