Success Story: Who doesn’t like traveling and seeing new places? But when it comes to women, the dirtiness of public toilets bothers them. Dirty washrooms everywhere, and the diseases caused by them, are a big problem. But do you know that with this very dirt a person has created a business worth Rs 50 crore. Yes, it might be surprising to hear, but it is true.

Who doesn’t like traveling and visiting different places? But when it comes to women’s public toilets, dirty washrooms are seen everywhere. In such a situation, there remains a risk of various diseases. But one person has created a business worth crores from dirty public toilets and washrooms. Now you might be wondering how?

In 2013, Vikas Bagaria’s wife Srijana got UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) due to using a public washroom while travelling. Seeing this problem, Vikas did research and found that many women in India face this problem due to dirty public toilets. Many times women skip the washroom while travelling, which is not good for their health. To solve this problem, Vikas developed a toilet seat sanitizer, which was named Pee Safe.

There were two big challenges in the beginning of PSafe. First, to make people aware about it. In India, people are shy about menstrual hygiene (periods) and intimate hygiene, so it was difficult to reach this product to the people.

Second, competition in the market. Any company could easily make toilet seat sanitizer, so how would Pee Safe be different? Vikas ran several online and offline campaigns to overcome these challenges. He told people how important it is to use clean washrooms. Along with this, he adopted the omni channel model, so that the products reach everywhere.

After the success of Pee Safe, Vikas launched more products like Gym Safe and Mosquito Safe. They also expanded into the categories of women’s personal care and sexual wellness.

Today PSafe is working in 10 cities with a team of 40 members and 12 percent of its revenue is coming from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This product is not only improving the health of women, but has also created a new category. Today this product is generating annual revenue of more than Rs 57 crore.

This development thinking has shown that solving a small problem can bring about a big change. Today P Safe is reaching not only in India but also in the Middle East and Africa and is continuously growing.
