After partition in 1947, the family had to come to India. He started a small Sohan Halwa cart in Arjun Nagar, Gurugram.

Life was not easy, but he did not give up. When the head of the family died, elder brother Om Prakash left studies and took over the responsibility of the family. His hard work changed the cart into a small shop, which gradually became a big name.

Today there are more than 600 things in the menu of Om Sweets. This includes crispy dosa, spicy chowmin, juicy rasmalai and most special, their ‘Doda Barfi’. This barfi is not just sweet, but a feeling for people. It uses special ‘Angoori wheat’, which gives it a unique taste. Every day 10,000 kg of barfi is sold and this figure increases five times in festivals. People are crazy about its sweetness.

Kathuria brothers, Ankit and Karan, brought this business to new heights. He learned everything from kneading dough in the shop to serving customers at the counter. Today Om Sweets have modern shops, online delivery and exports to countries like Dubai, Qatar.

He combined the tradition with modernity by adding new products like Thandai Pearls and Biscoff Barfi. Om Sweets made their place with people’s trust and mouth talk amidst big names like Bilanarwala and Haldiram.
