Sitamarhi:- Ruby, a woman from Dhankaul Balha village in Shivhar district of Bihar, has become an example in the entire area today. When her husband died about 13 years ago, life was suddenly filled with challenges. Children upbringing, economic troubles and social pressure, difficulties from all sides were in front. But Ruby decided to give a new direction to her life instead of giving up the situation.

Advice from experienced farmers
She made her husband’s part of the land his strength and proceeded on the path of farming. Initially, the lack of resources and experience definitely disturbed him, but he learned everything gradually after consulting local agricultural officials and experienced farmers.

Ruby has been cultivating green vegetables for the last 12 years and now her annual income has reached about 5 lakh rupees. Their fields have good yields of many seasonal vegetables like cabbage, tomato, peas, lady finger, brinjal, bitter gourd and capsicum.

At this time, their fields are cropped by brinjal, lady finger and garlic, while cabbage and parwal crops are going to be ready.
