Shyam Shankar’s educational qualification: Shyam Shankar has done MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornel University and MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Shankar decided to join a startup, XOOM CORP by rejecting a job proposal in a consulting company and in 2006 he joined Palantir Tech.

Shyam Shankar’s family background: Shyam was born in Mumbai and in childhood he lived in Lagos, Nigeria. His father, who was born in an earthen house in Tamil Nadu, was the first person to go to college in the family. His family moved to Orlando (America) when Shyam was two years old. Shankar once told that he first ran a successful souvenir business for the theme parks and later ran a dry-clining business which became bankrupt.
