Amid the preparation of IAS, he gets a call from a friend. Friend says, “Let’s start selling tea”. If someone else had been another person, brother would have left fun and you do your work, let me prepare for IAS. But… this boy did something different. Left preparations for IAS on friend’s advice. Put a small tea cart. Named Tea Sutta Bar (Chai Sutta Bar). The boy’s name is Anubhav Dubey. You will not believe that the same hand has been transformed into a company with 150 million turnover today.

Anubhav Dubey is from Rewa city of Madhya Pradesh and comes from an ordinary business family. His father wanted the son to become IAS, so after completing his BCom, the experience was sent to Delhi to prepare for UPSC. He did not get success in the initial UPSC exams. What UPSC, what IIT and what IIM, failed at all places. Luck had some more acceptance. Meanwhile, Anand Nayak, a friend of his college, reminded him of the old idea of selling tea. Anubhav Dubey considered this seriously and decided to leave everything in Delhi and return to Indore.

Tea Sutta Bar Starts from only 3 lakh rupees

In the year 2016, both of them collected only 3 lakh rupees from them and opened a small tea cart in Bhanwarkuan area of Indore. The shop fare was Rs 18,000 a month. There was a crisis of money, so he himself painted the shop, used old furniture, and wrote the chai sutta bar by hand on wood. Despite the word ‘Sutta’ in the name, there was no bidi in the shop, nor cigarette, just tea.

The style of his tea was special. Giving tea in earthen axes not only gave indigenous feeling, but it also provided employment to the families making earthen utensils. Both friends slowly started selling traditional tea like spices, ginger, cardamom as well as unique tea like chocolate, saffron, basil, rose and paan flavor. Along with this, fast food like Maggi, Pasta, Burger and Sandwich. The combination of fast food and tea started pulling the youth towards them.

Gradually, the name of tea Sutta Bar started becoming famous. Today, they have more than 400 outlets in 195 cities of the country. Not only India, they have shops in Dubai, Oman, Canada, Nepal and UK. Tea is sold in more than 80,000 axes daily and the company’s annual turnover is about Rs 150 crore.

Jobs given to engineers and MBA people in Tea Sutta Bar

Not only this, he has given employment to more than 1500 people, including engineers and professionals like MBA. The special thing is that he has also given work to people of Divyang and backward classes. He has also started the initiative to give period leave to women employees.

During Covid-19, when many shops had to be closed and there was a loss of Rs 3 crore, they did not give up. Gave free tea to the police and health workers, active on social media and as soon as the situation improved, they stood up again.

Recently, through a post on social media, he told that he wants to form a team full of passion, not an army of 9-5 jobs. Some people make fun of them about this thinking, while some people also salute them.

Anubhav Dubey has become an icon today. His total assets are estimated to be around Rs 10 crore and they are now associated with other businesses like Kafe-La, Maatea and Tech Master Gogo.

Narcotics team raided 2 times in suspicion named ‘Sutta’

In the initial stages, there was financial crisis and tough competition. It was not easy to make a brand of tea and snacks only. But there were other difficulties in front of him. The narcotics team also raided him 2 times. Sutta in the name “Chai Sutta Bar” is a word that states cigarettes or drugs are also served here. But every time he got a clean chit and the Narcotics team did not find anything wrong.
