There was a time when he was working as an engineer, but today he is earning crores of rupees from fish farming business. His story is not only an example of hard work but also of changing thinking.

Nandkishore completed his early education from the village and then obtained an engineering degree from IPS College. As soon as he completed his studies, he got a job in a private company for Rs 50 thousand per month. He worked for a few years, but he always had a desire to do something different. They wanted to do some work of their own so that they would not only be successful but could also provide employment to others.

In the year 2016, Nandkishore took a big decision. He said goodbye to his steady job and moved towards fish farming. The people of the village were surprised that an engineer is now going to raise fish in the ponds! But Nandkishore had confidence in himself.

Initially Nandkishore started work with just one pond. He learned the techniques of fish farming with the help of government schemes and agriculture department. Gradually, using his experience and knowledge, he planned fish farming under the ABC model (Aeration, Breeding and Care). Due to this, the growth of fishes accelerated and there was a tremendous increase in production.

Today Nandkishore Patel has four to five big ponds, in which he rears fish of species like Rohu, Katla, Mrigal and grass carp. Their annual turnover has reached around Rs 12 crore. Nandkishore says that if the thinking is positive and the hard work is true, then one can get success in any work. I definitely took an engineering degree, but I did real engineering in the fields and ponds.

Nandkishore says that we always heard that educated people do jobs, but now the time has come that educated people should give a new look to farming and animal husbandry. This is the direction of real self-reliant India. Nand Kishore also took advantage of the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana of the Fisheries Department. Under this scheme, they got subsidy on pond construction and fish feed.
