Women of Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh are setting an example of struggle, self -sufficiency and success. These women together formed a women’s peasant group Namami Livelihood Farmer Producer Producer Company Limited, which today is delivering its products not only to Madhya Pradesh but other states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and the country. Not only this, the products made by them are now being exported even abroad.
Kala Bamne is leading this company, who has been an ordinary rural woman herself. But today Kala Bam is leading this group of more than 700 women. His dream is that this company became an example of women empowerment across the country.
Kala Bamne says that we started at a small level. At first no one was sure that we would be able to make something. But when we prepared herbal tea and medicinal products and sent it to the market, people appreciated a lot. Today our tea is being liked from UP to Delhi.
Women of this group are preparing four types of herbal tea Tulsi T, Giloy Tea, Ashwagandha T and Lemongrass T. All these tea helps to detox the body, increase the immune system and reduce stress. All these products are fully prepared in a natural way. Farming is also done by organic method, which makes the quality and effect of the product excellent.
Role of support
The government and local administration have also played an important role in this initiative. Women have been provided training, packaging unit, marketing and branding facilities. Along with this, their products were transported to cities and other states through online platforms and social media. A female member says that earlier we were afraid to go out of the house too, but now we are running machines, packing tea and taking orders ourselves. This change has become a part of our life.
These women of Jalkuan village of Madhya Pradesh have proved that if there is encouragement, no obstacle is big. With the correct use of natural resources, hard work and collective efforts, he has created an enterprise that presents a true picture of self -sufficient India. Where women are empowered, society itself becomes strong. The women of Jalkuan are now making taste of self -sufficiency, not just tea.
