Success Story. Devi Prasad Shukla, resident of Chhatarpur district, who earlier used to work in repairing electronic goods like TV. However, after this he went to Noida and worked in a garments factory making clothes. Came back home after working for 2 years. Where he himself started a textile business with a cost of Rs 20 lakh. He also provided employment to 10 people through this business.
Devi Prasad is a post graduate
Devi Prasad says that I have done post graduation. Used to work in electronics. Also did the work of repairing TV for years. They taught the children and also gave them jobs. After this worked in the city for years. Also worked in a garments factory in Greater Noida for two and a half years. After this, I returned to the village during the lockdown and the thought came to me that I should stay in my maternal birthplace and start some business. With this idea, I started the business of making clothes 3 years ago in a small village.
the experience came in handy
Devi Prasad tells that I did not like anyone’s job from the beginning. That’s why I first opened a TV mechanic shop. After this, I was forced to leave the shop and go to Noida. There he worked in the maintenance department of a garments factory. That’s why he lived with the workers and also joined officially. The same experience is coming in handy in this business today. However, the insistence was that I would not work for anyone but would give jobs to people myself.
Starting from Rs 1 lakh
Devi Prasad tells that he started this business with Rs 1 lakh and later bought machines worth Rs 7 lakh. The total cost including raw material came to Rs 20 lakh. The specialty of this business is that you can earn as much goods as you can make in it. If you make goods worth Rs 50 lakh, you can earn that much.
From kurti-palazzo to lower, t-shirt are made.
Devi Prasad tells that everything from girls’ kurtis and palazzos to T-shirts and lowers are made here. Lowers are made in children’s sizes up to triple XL. The lowers are stitched with double stitching and the elastic is also of good quality. Devi Prasad has created her own brand of lower pants. They do manufacturing in the village itself and then sell it in bulk to traders. They contain 6 colors of lowers in one packet. Doing business in the village not only benefited Devi Prasad, but also provided employment to 8 to 10 people of the village.
10 people got employment
The opening of a textile factory in the village provided employment to those people who had skills but were not getting employment. Now they will not have to go out as they get employment in the village itself.
