Success Story: 10 women from Kumbharia village in Amreli district of Gujarat are running ‘Aajeevika Navdurga Mandal’ and selling plants like mango, chiku, pomegranate. Every woman is earning 10-12 thousand rupees every month.

‘Navdurga Mandal’ opened new way for earning
The mandal started a few years ago, when the women of the village decided to do something new. Radhikaben Parmar, who is a member of this group, says that he has studied only up to tenth but now he is self -sufficient on the strength of hard work and dedication. Every woman in the mandal is standing on her own feet today. This little step not only changed his life, but also became an example for other people of the village.
In this nursery, fruit plants like mango, Sharifa, Chiku, Pomegranate, Papaya, Amla and Guava are grown. The price of these plants ranges from Rs 20 to Rs 200. The prepared plants are sent not only to Amreli, but also to the surrounding districts. More than 100 plants are sold daily from here and every woman gets an income of about 10 to 12 thousand rupees a month.
The encouragement increased with the help of government, women became role models
These women have got great support from the schemes and training programs being run by the Gujarat government for women. With the economic and technical help given by the government, the confidence of these women has increased. Today, she is not only running her home expenses, but has also come in a position to give work to others.
