Most of the women of Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh are engaged in becoming self -sufficient by resorting to self -help groups. Women are not only making themselves self -reliant, but are also motivating other women to become self -sufficient. Ranjana Sahu, a resident of Habbunagar in Kaushambi district, is working closely with her husband. Ranjan Sahu is working with the responsibilities of the house as well as sharing his husband’s business. Ranjana is from a poor family and started working in 2021 by joining a group. She runs in the factory with her husband as the financial condition of the house is not good. Ranjana does household work in the morning and then works in the factory from 10 am to 4 pm. In the factory, the work of grinding wheat, extracting oil, and making gram flour and millet flour is done. With these works, she is taking up the responsibility of the family along with raising her family and spends the expenses of children’s education. In such a situation, women have a good opportunity to join self -help groups to become self -sufficient. Because any kind of loan is easily obtained to do business by joining the group. In such a situation, women can do any kind of work easily.
Ranjana Sahu told that in 2021 we first joined the group and took some money and then started a factory. Bajra flour, wheat flour, gram flour and mustard are crushed in this factory. Earlier, if we had to spend ₹ 100, then we had to think 10 times. But after joining the group and starting our factory, we are having good income and there is no problem in spending. The biggest thing is that after joining the group, we get a loan at low interest. We have also put this factory by taking a loan from the group. We have been running this factory for the last 4 years and we are earning good income, due to which we are able to raise our family and children.
