Delhi: Someone has rightly said that dreams have no limits. This is the story of Sugandha Tyagi of Delhi. Who chose their passion after stumbling into a glittering corporate career. When he started spreading his art on shoes, he got taunt from home – will he become a cobbler now? But who knew that one day this girl would write such a story with her talent that even Bollywood’s ‘Bajirao’ Ranveer Singh would become a fan of her work.
‘Will you become a cobbler?’
Coming from a lower middle class family, Sugandha’s parents were in government jobs. He decided to leave his corporate job and become a customized shoes artist. After this, his father was surprised and asked, do you want to become a cobbler now? Sugandha says that 10 years ago no one knew about this area, so her decision was quite strange for her family and friends.
Recalling the initial days, Sugandha says that she used to pack the shoes made by herself and go for delivery by metro or auto. She herself did not know how far she would be able to go in this field. His hard work then bore fruit. When famous music producer and DJ Nucleya posted on Instagram wearing the shoes made by him and tagged him. This was a big turning point in his career.
Sugandha’s fame increased further when she Message came from Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh. Ranveer asked him to make shoes with Crime Master Gogo design. Sugandha says that at first she thought someone was joking, but it turned out to be true.
Today Sugandha is a successful artist and has also worked with big brands like Myntra. She charges up to Rs 25,000 for customizing a pair of shoes. However, the price may be more or less depending on the design. It can take anywhere from 3-4 hours to 5-6 days to make a pair of shoes. Sugandha believes that an artist should take money according to his art and time.
