Rajesh Mehta’s roots are connected to Gujarat but his business journey started from Bengaluru. Actually, his father Jaswantari Mehta came to Karnataka from Gujarat for jewelery business. In Karnataka, he also started sharing his hand in his business with his father.

Finely learned from father

While doing jewelery business with his father, he pledged to increase his father’s business with his brother Prashant. For this, Rajesh Mehta started a silver business. However, for this work, he took a loan of Rs 8000 from Bipin and took two thousand rupees from the bank and got into a silver business.

Travel from silver business to gold

In 1982, Rajesh Mehta landed in a silver business, initially he used to buy silver jewelery from Chennai and sell it in Rajkot. After this, he started selling jewelery to wholesalers in Gujarat. He was encouraged by the success in this business and he expanded his business in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Its eagle Rajesh Mehta started the work of gold jewelery in 1990.

The special thing is that he also started it at a very small level. Rajesh Mehta launched a unit unit for the manufacture of a gold jewelery in his garage in Bengaluru. After this, he started exporting gold jewelery to many countries including Dubai, Oman, Kuwait, Britain and America.

India’s largest gold exporter

In just 5 years, Rajesh Exports became India’s largest gold jewelery exporter and supplier. A year later, Rajesh Mehta brought his company’s IPO. By the year 1998, the annual turnover of Rajesh Exports increased to Rs 1200 crore. After Gold Jewelery Manufacturing, Rajesh Mehta opened a store named Shubh Jewelers, and expanded it throughout Karnataka.

Not only this, Rajesh Exports bought Swiss refinery Valcambi in July 2015. With this, he got a gold refinery in Switzerland and India.
