Chinnakannan Shivshankaran was born in a normal family in Tamil Nadu. He entered the world of business at a very young age. Initially he started a computer hardware business. He slowly moved forward and kept his business to a new peak. He formed a company called Sterling Computers Limited (STC), which was among the top computer companies in India in the 1990s.
Shivshankaran got the real identity when he established Aircel. Launched in 1999, the company brought a revolution to the telecom world in South India. Aircel added millions of customers in a very short time and became one of the big telecom brands in the country.
He later sold 74 per cent of Aircel to Maxis Communications (Malaysia). The deal was quite controversial and later came its name in the 2G spectrum scam. After this, Shivshankaran’s difficulties increased and the days changed.
People know Chinnakannan Shivshankaran by the name ‘Siva’. His net worth was once estimated at $ 4 billion, but after Aircel’s bankruptcy in 2018, his world changed. Recently, while narrating his story in Ranveer Allahabad’s show The Ranveer Show, he told how he should lose Rs 7,000 crore. He says, “I am not poor, just broken for the moment.” He said that a case related to his related case is pending in the Supreme Court and from the same case he hopes that he can get his money back.
When he decided to be bankrupt, he read the book of Donald Trump. That book inspired him and on the same day he also prepared a plan to make himself a billionaire. He says confidently, “I thought on the same day what to do now. My story is not over yet.”
