Born in Jalandhar in the year 1931, Paul left no stone unturned in education even at that time. He earned BSc, MSc and McAi degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He came back to India after taking his degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Earlier, he also performed a graduate in Science from Jalandhar to High School and Punjab University in 1949. After studying engineering, he came back to India and started sharing his hand in his father’s business.

Paul, who came to India after completing his studies, went to London in 1966 to treat his daughter Ambika. His daughter had leukemia. Despite all the efforts for treatment, his daughter died at the age of 5. Paul made this grief his strength and laid the foundation of Ambika Paul Foundation. This foundation is still promoting philanthropic works. After this, Paul laid the foundation of Caparo Group in 1968, which started with the establishment of the natural gas tubes. Gradually, this company made products like structural steel, prince tubes, bar quality and cold-rald strip.
