He used to support himself and his family by working as a laborer in the fields. Now in the midst of all this, Jeevika’s organization came and after this someone suggested that this is a very good organization and is for women. In this, some loans are easily available for the industry.

Jeevika joined the organization on advice

Chamkila Devi joined Jeevika on the advice given by a person. Now after that his career got a new start. She left farming and started working with the organization. After some time, this Jeevika organization also started getting support from the Bihar government, which started benefiting all the women of Bihar who were associated with Jeevika. Chamkila Devi was one of these women. A way was found and Chamkila Devi started taking advantage of it.

Now giving training to 20 women
Now somehow she learned to operate the sewing machine. Along with this, in order to raise her husband, she also started goat rearing. In such a situation, the husband also started earning well and also learned tailoring and gave training to other women. Now when everything went well, she is teaching tailoring to 20 women and is earning a good amount from it.

Income from goat rearing also increased
Apart from this, good income is also being earned from goat rearing. Due to this, he and his family are being well maintained.

‘Earlier we used to run our house for Rs 200’
Chamkila Devi from Local 18 said that once she used to earn Rs 200 as a laborer in the fields to meet her household expenses and today she has done everything related to her livelihood on her own. She is giving sewing training to other people at home. The women nearby are also getting a lot of benefit from this.
