According to Gudiya Devi, she was married to Ashok Kumar, a resident of Salethu village under Maharajganj tehsil area of Rae Bareli district in the year 2002. But this relationship could not last long. In the year 2005, her husband divorced her. She says that after getting divorced from her husband, as if a mountain of sorrow broke on her head. But he did not give up. After leaving her husband, she started living with her son Dev Akash at her father’s house. After staying at her father’s house for some time, she started living in Ganga Kheda village at her uncle Jageshwar. Because his aunt had no children. So she started living here as a support for her aunt’s old age and started serving them.
The doll says that he used to do fisheries by taking land on his uncle lease. In which she too started to join hands in her work. But the struggle of his life was not over yet. In the year 2022, both his aunt and uncle died suddenly. After the death of both, she became destitute again. But to convert the difficulties of his life into his success, he took over the work of his uncle and engaged in fisheries work. Now for the past several years, she is doing fisheries by taking a bigha land on lease at the rate of 10 thousand rupees annually. Due to which she is earning good profits.
She states that she mainly follows three types of fish, which have Rohu, Grass cutter, common species of fish. Because there is more demand in their markets. Due to which she is easily sold at good prices. Along with this, she is also cultivating vegetables around the pond. In which she is also preparing the crop of cucumber, pumpkin, lorai mainly. Whom she sends from local markets to Rae Bareli markets for sale. She also earns good profits from this work. She brings the children of fish from Gosaiganj in Lucknow to raise the pond. Also, they feed them polish of rice, mustard cake, fish grain as fodder.
Talking to Local 18, Gudiya Devi tells that she sends the fish prepared in the pond for sale in the markets of Gorakhpur and Lucknow. From where they get good prices of fish. Giving further information, she says that she sells fish twice a year. At the same time, there is a cost of 40 to 50 thousand rupees in the work of fisheries, so relative to the cost, it also earns from two to two and a half lakh rupees annually.
