Success story: Yogesh Tripathi, who has made his own identity in the name of Daroga Happu Singh in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai Hain’ and ‘Happu Ki Ulton Paltan’. Today he is a glowing star of Indian television. His mustache, Golmatol belly and “Hey grandfather!” Wali style spreads laughter in every house. But behind this laughter is the true story of Yogesh’s life, which is full of hard work, struggle and courage.

Yogesh remembered his old days in a conversation with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan. He says that he was born in a village where entertainment had no meaning. All teachers in his family were teachers, government jobs.

Was from Govinda Fan

Yogesh did BSC in Maths, but did not even walk in the house. His mother used to take him to Jhansi his maternal home, where he used to watch three films a day. He says, “I know from the fragrance of theater whether it is an old single-screen or PVR! ” In childhood, he was a fan of Govinda and would go to watch movies in cheap shows of 2-5 rupees. Watching the award show with mother at night, when his strict father would fall asleep.

Actor did street plays

But acting was strange in his family. His father would have to listen to the taunts that all the children are in government jobs, but “Mintu gimmick”. Yogesh performed 1200-1500 street plays in Lucknow, for which he used to get only 75 rupees. In 2004, he came to Mumbai, where life was more difficult. He would sell the pen for 150 rupees, earn 1500 rupees by becoming a background artist, sometimes only 95 rupees a day. The father lies that they are doing computer courses, but secretly theater. He says, “I started with zero, not from minus.”

Earning 60,000 rupees every day

In 2007, an advertisement changed his life. After this they ‘FIR ‘ Got a role in In 2015, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’ made him famous from house to house. Initially, he used to get 8000 rupees daily, used to earn 24,000 rupees by working a few days a month. But Happu Singh became so hit that his own show ‘Happu Ki Ulton Paltan’ started in 2019. Today, he earns 60,000 rupees daily and earns 24 lakh rupees by working about 40 days a month.

Yogesh achieved all hard work, from spending the night at the CST station in Mumbai to becoming the owner of four flats today. He says, “I never took a loan. Whatever is there, I got hard and patience.” Even today, they are connected to the land. His wife and son are his greatest critic. Happu Singh’s funny style is also reflected in his real life. They love food, laughter and family. Yogesh’s story teaches that any dream can come true with hard work and courage.
