Gumla: While today’s youth are migrating to other states in search of better employment, a farmer of Gumla has brought a new revolution in the field of agriculture with his passion and hard work. Anju Sahu, a resident of Devaki village of Ghaghra block of Gumla district, made farming his career even after studying up to seventh and today he is employing hundreds of people.

Most of the population is dependent on agriculture due to lack of big industries in tribal dominated area Gumla. In such a situation, Anju Sahu has set an example with his hard work. In 2007, after leaving studies and going to Indore in search of work, only when Anju 70 When he got a daily wage, he decided to come back and do farming. He said that initially he started farming on a small scale, and slowly moved forward with experience.

Big profits from modern farming

Today, Anju Sahu is doing farming using modern drip irrigation technology on about 25 acres of land. He has planted many crops like cucumber, ginger, brinjal, tomato, flooring and SEBI. He has spent about 15 to 20 lakh rupees in this farming, but he hopes that by selling these crops, he can earn a profit of 60 to 80 lakh rupees.

Impressed by this success, farmers from far and wide are coming to learn the ways of modern farming from them. About 100 to 150 people work in Anju throughout the year, due to which employment opportunities have also been created in the village. Anju has also got the facility of drip irrigation on subsidy from the government, which has reduced their costs.
