Success Story: Jaipal Inwati, resident of Surwahi village of Balaghat, studied till eighth standard, but his younger brother studied and became an officer in the Horticulture Department. In such a situation, the younger brother took the elder brother to Jhabua and got him trained in vegetable farming there. The effect of the training was that Jaipal’s way of looking at farming changed. He took farming commercially and said goodbye to traditional farming. Jaipal cultivates only vegetables in 6 acres from which he earns up to Rs 12 lakh every year. In this he also cultivates bitter gourd, lady’s finger, cucumber, semi, popat and other crops.
