Bill Malhotra was born in New Delhi, the capital of India. The memories of Delhi are still fresh in his mind. He often says that he used to go to Delhi with his father in a luxury hotel ‘The Claridges’. He did civil engineering from Rajasthan’s prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS).

In 1971, he was only 22 years old. Then his brother Ashok advised him to go to Canada. His brothers worked in an engineering company there. After reaching Canada, he started working as a structural engineer and also gained recognition of a professional engineer in 1974.

Leaving job and started his business
After working as a Chief Structural Engineer in the city of Otawa for about 10 years, he decided to quit his job and decided to do something for himself. In 1986, he started his real estate company called Claride Homes. The company was named after the hotel in Delhi, where he used to come and go with his father in his childhood.

Initially he did not have much money, so he took a line of credit by mortgaging his house. Meaning he took a loan by mortgaging the house. He started the work of fixing an old building. His company also built the tallest building of Otawa called ‘Clarge icon’, which is 469 feet height. Not only this, he also expanded the company in the state of Florida, USA, where he has been active and working for the last 20 years.

Bill Malhotra now sees the company’s functioning with his sons Neil and Sean. Both sons have been working in the company for the last two decades and are ready to handle it in future. Both have played a big role in advancing the company. Apart from this, he has also discovered new investment options in sports, such as taking a stake in the Ottawa Centers Hockey Team.
