According to the ADR report, out of a total of 643 ministers in India, 36 are billionaires. This means that the assets of about 6% ministers are more than Rs 100 crore. Overall, the declared assets of all ministers are more than Rs 23,929 crore. As the richest minister, Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is the richest minister in the country.

Karnataka has eight billionaire ministers, which are more than any other Indian state. There are 6 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Maharashtra, while Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Telangana are 2 in total. There are 1 billionaire ministers in each in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.

The Telugu Desam is the 6 billionaire minister of the party and also a billionaire minister of parties like Aam Aadmi Party, JDS, Shiv Sena and NCP. It is worth noting that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is the richest Chief Minister of India, whose assets are ₹ 931 crore.
