If you start a business according to the demand of the people, then success is considered certain. And in the morning everyone’s first demand is tea. Monu Yadav, who sells tea in front of Rajkumar College in the capital Raipur, is a living example of this. His tea shop, which started at a cost of only 5 thousand rupees, looks like a successful startup today.
Monu Yadav started this work about 11 years ago. He had neither much money nor big experience, but he bought some basic things like gas stove, cylinder, disposable cup, tea leaf, sugar and biscuits and opened a small tea shop. Gradually, the magic of his hard work and delicious tea started walking on the customers.
Today, their shop is open every day from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and there is a crowd of customers throughout the day. Monu says that his shop does not have a crowd at any particular time, but there is always a gathering of tea lovers.
Tea made of tea of 8 and 15 rupees
In Monu Yadav’s shop, small cup of tea is available for 8 rupees and big cup of tea for 15 rupees. Along with this, they also sell coffee. Tea is sold for about 600 cups daily. If an average calculation is imposed, then Monu’s daily earnings reach from 5,000 to 7,000 rupees. That is, their monthly earnings ranges from about 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh rupees. Talking about the annual turnover, this figure reaches between 18 and 24 lakh rupees.
A small step made a big inspiration
Monu Yadav says that he never thought that his small tea shop would make such a big identity. They believe that if a person has an idea and hard work, then the startup can be started from any level. Today, his story has become an exemplary example for the youth and small entrepreneurs of Raipur.
