Today we are going to tell you such a success story that has put four in the jewelery industry with his hard work. We are talking about Gaurav Singh Kushwaha. After studying computer science from IIT Delhi, he took some steps that inspire everyone. He left the Amazon job and started Bluestone Jewelery in 2011, and today his company has been priced at more than Rs 1300 crore. All this happened when Bluestone made a great debut in the stock market.
Gaurav holds 17.7% stake in the company, ie 2.45 crore shares, which he bought on an average at a price of Rs 47.92 per share. When Bluestone shares reached Rs 548 in the stock market, the price of this stake was Rs 1340.68 crore. This is the result of their hard work.
Ratan Tata also has a big hand in Gaurav’s story. When Gaurav met him in 2014, he was hesitant to speak in front of Tata. In an interview, he told that he was nervous only after hearing Tata’s name, but his simplicity and warmth won the heart of Gaurav.
Tata advised him that if you do something good for customers with a sincere heart, then they will trust you. Tata said, “Always try to make something extraordinary, whether it is a product, service or company’s culture.” Gaurav took this advice from the heart and brought Bluestone to new heights. His wife also jokingly said that she buys jewelry from Bluestone’s website every month, and it is a bit difficult to have jewelery business in the new wedding!
Jewelery business is not easy, because it takes a lot of money. But Gaurav tasted cleverly. Initially, he got the production done from outside, but later the company started manufacturing its own. Due to this, the time to make jewelry remained only 3-4 days and there was no need to keep more goods in stock.
In 2014, Bluestone had 3000 designs, and Gaurav said that it would take it to 20,000 in two years. At that time, the company’s annual sales was Rs 50-60 crore. Today Bluestone has become the country’s big jewelery brand with 275 shops in 117 cities, with 200 its shops and 75 franchisees.
Bluestone’s IPO closed on 13 August 2025, raising Rs 1541 crore. It subscribed 2.72 times, that is, investors liked it very much. Bluestone shares opened at Rs 508.80 in the stock market, which was less than Rs 517, but later it reached Rs 542. The company raised Rs 693 crore from big investors and will use Rs 750 crore to increase business.
The story of Gaurav tells how an IIT graduate gave a new look to jewelery business by combining technology and tradition. He is competing with Tata’s company Caratlane, which is near Titan. Gaurav showed that dreams can become a reality with hard work, right advice and courage.
