Khandva. A 14-year-old girl has done so amazing, leaving Barkhedi, a small village in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, which not only her parents but the entire district are proud. This daughter named Ashwini Dasharatha Singh Chauhan has created history by winning the gold medal in the national level rifle shooting competition. Ashwini is currently a student of class 8 in Kendriya Vidyalaya and she is a regular player of Victory Shooting Club. His mother Ranu Chauhan says that the daughter entered the world of sports at the age of just 9. Started with karate. Ashwini also performed amazing in karate. She has won the silver medal in the international tournament held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

But the mother saw a different possibility in the daughter. He felt that Ashwini’s future in shooting could be more bright. Then he sent him to the Victory Shooting Club to coach Kashif Sir. Initially she used to go only for physical fitness, but gradually her interest in shooting increased. The effect of hard work and discipline was that in a few months Ashwini surprised everyone with her skills. Ashwini gets up at 5 am and goes to the stadium, where she takes physical training and then shooting practice during the rest of the day. He started shooting rifle at the age of 10 and proved that by winning the gold medal at the national level within just 3 years, it proved that any place can be achieved with dedication, hard work and right guidance.

Recently, Ashwini won the gold medal in the pistol category in the national rifle shooting competition held in Pakhwara, Punjab. Ashwini from Madhya Pradesh and another player from Gwalior achieved this feat.
When Ashwini was asked what his dream was, he confidently said, “My dream is to win the gold medal in the Olympics for India and illuminate the name of the country.” His parents, coaches and schools are all supporting him to realize his dream. His mother Ranu says, “I want my daughter to move forward in the field of sports. We are poor, but will not compromise on the daughter’s dreams. Seeing her hard work, it seems that she will definitely bring gold for India in the Olympics one day.”

Ashwini’s coach Kashif sir also does not get tired of praising him. He says, “Ashwini has qualities like concentration, balance and patience from the beginning, which should be in a great shooter. She works hard every day and never holds back from practice.” This success of Ashwini is a proof that talent is not interested in any big city or resources. This daughter of a small village has become an inspiration for millions of girls today. Now Ashwini’s eyes are on the upcoming national and international competitions. She is constantly practicing and preparing herself for the Olympics.
