Afroz of Siwan district of Bihar quit corporate jobs and chose the path of farming and environmental protection. He established a nursery on 4 acres, which earns 2-4 lakh rupees every month.
Afroz established a nursery, from where not only greenery is being promoted, but farmers are also getting beneficial plants at a reasonable price of plants. Afroz says that he got information from the forest department that the government is providing grants to open nursery. After this information, he laid the foundation of his nursery on 4 acres of land. In this, he included fruitful plants like mangoes, guava, papaya, berries and bananas as well as plants used in furniture like Teak, Sheesham and Popular. This nursery is also special because any person here can buy a plant for just 10 rupees.
Income from 2 to 4 lakhs
Another big special thing here is if a person keeps that purchased plant alive for three years, then the forest department gives an incentive amount of Rs 70 per plant to that person. This scheme not only motivates people to buy saplings, but is also a big initiative towards environmental protection. Afroz’s hard work has paid off. They say that from this 4 acre nursery, they get income of about 2 to 4 lakh rupees every month. He says that if the youth of today trust themselves and bring new technology even in traditional works, then lack of employment cannot become a hindrance. Today, the nursery of Afroz has become a source of inspiration not only for their village, but also for the surrounding areas. People come to see their models, learn and try to adopt in their areas.
