Teacher left the dream of becoming a cricketer, Ravikant got the state-national award, now will give tips to teachers across the country

The story of Ravikant Dwivedi, Principal of Government School in Mirzapur district of UP, is also similar. The first went ahead with the dream of becoming a cricketer, but the circumstances changed the way. After adopting studies, he became a teacher and rejuvenated his school. He was first honored with the state teacher and then the Rashtriya Teacher Award. Now the National Council for Teacher Education has appointed him a mentor of sports subject, where he will guide teachers across the country.

Ravikant Dwivedi, the headmaster posted in Bhagsar Primary School in Mirzapur district, is a resident of Dharmadeva village. His father Jatashankar Dwivedi is a farmer and mother Kanti Devi is a housewife. Ravikant was fond of becoming a cricketer, but on not getting success, he stepped into the field of education and became a teacher in 2009. As a teacher, he worked hard and rejuvenated the school in 2016 as a headmaster. In 2019, his school was selected as an outstanding school at the state level. In 2021, he was awarded the State Teacher Award for providing him better education and the National Teacher Award in 2024.

Could not become cricketers

After receiving the Rashtra Teacher Award, the National Council for Teacher Education, constituted in 2020, has appointed Ravikant Dwivedi as a mentor on the subject of sports. Ravikant told that his dream was to become a cricketer in childhood and he also worked hard for this. However, it was not possible to play in the Ranji Trophy, so he stepped into the field of education. He was appointed as a teacher in 2009. Even after becoming a teacher, in the beginning, the mind seemed less in reading.

Ravikant Dwivedi told that one day a student in school came to him and said, “Sir, I have to be like you.” This made him resolve to provide better education. He said, “I thought if someone wanted to be like me, it means that I am doing something good.” After that moment he did not back down and started teaching in primary school. Today, he has received his excellent teacher, excellence school, state teacher and national teacher award.
