Purnia MSME Cluster: Purnia’s House of Maithili is giving employment to more than 40 women and giving them a global identity to their workmanship. Now it has also been approved to open a cluster from the MSME ministry.
Purnia: The ‘House of Maithili’, which started three years ago in Purnia, Bihar, has become a successful example of not only one industry, but also the empowerment of local women and their workmanship on the global stage. In the field of handloom and handcraft, this initiative has changed their fate by giving direct employment to more than 40 women.
Manish Ranjan, founder of House of Maithili, says that the main objective of the beginning of this initiative Purnia’s local women had to provide employment in their city itself. Three years ago, this journey started with only 6 women and two handlooms. But, on the support of the people of Purnia and the amazing workmanship of the women here, today this institute is providing employment to about 40 women. The products made by them are making a splash not only in India but also abroad. For Ranjan, giving employment to women in the field of industry is their first priority.
Approval to open cluster from MSME, scope will increase
Manish Ranjan believes that with the opening of this cluster, the scope of House of Maithili will not be limited to Purnia only. Common service centers will be opened in the entire region under the cluster, where any interested local woman can connect with her art talent and skills. This will give women an opportunity to develop their art and earn good profits. Also, their products made will be recognized globally.
Employment opportunities: Interested women can join such
The House of Maithili has opened doors for all local women who have information related to handloom or handcraft. Who wants to earn money on the strength of her art. Interested women can reach the factory on Baks Ghat Road in Purnia and get all the related information. This initiative is not only making women financially self -reliant, but is also giving a new life and a big market to their traditional workmanship. This success story of the House of Maithili shows that on getting the right guidance and opportunity, local skills can also leave their mark globally.
